Putting Your Resume on YouTube

By now, we are all familiar with YouTube as the place with funny and random videos.  Today, I ran across this post on WetJello of meteorologist James Wieland.  Broadcast journalists (like James) are now adopted YouTube as a place to share their "video resumes" and showcase their skills and competencies.

Thanks so much for this post. I think the YouTube post was creative. The fact that WetJello is intending to make a business out of producing these online videos is really interesting. Seems like a great idea to me – definitely includes more metadata…..

Why stop at video resumes? YouTube can be a place for aspiring journalists who want to remain independent to publish their own news stories. If they have a blog, they can embed the video into their blog to attract a greater audience.
