Who’s Leading in the Quest for the Talent Management Suite?

That was a question I posed my fellow colleagues from Gartner (Jim Holincheck), IDC (Lisa Rowan) and AMR (Christa Degnan Manning) a few weeks ago during our analyst dinner at Lawson’s CUE Conference. More specifically, I think the question was actually, “…who are your top 5 TMS vendors?”. Although the questions could be interpreted a few ways, I tried to define the criteria as the vendor with the best product based on functionality, traction, technology, viability, etc.

Without divulging who said what, the responses were quite interesting and not what I was expecting. I think we were in unanimous agreement on 2 of the 5 vendors. The other 3 were unique among the group although with some overlap. I was in violent disagreement with 2 vendors that were mentioned which created some fun debate. Another 4 or 5 vendors were mentioned as “could potentially make the list but not there yet”.

So…who was my top 5? Sorry for the tease but you will have to wait until next month when my talent management report is published.
