What the Heck?

Today I received a Google Alert directing me to a website where you can hire recognized “speakers, celebrities and entertainers”.  The site is actually very interesting.  You can see what various people charge for appearances and speaking engagements.  Tony Robbins is “$1o0K and above”.   Tom Lasorda is slumming it at $30-50K while that dude from The Apprentice, Bill Rancic, is charging $10,001-20,000.

What was funny about the alert is that the site actually lists me as one of their featured speakers.  Why the hell am I on there?  I am not “recognized” nor a celebrity or entertainer (at least in the professional sense).   I do not have an “agent” nor have I, or my company, even given them authorization to put me on the site and represent me.

For those interested, though, I am more than happy to appear for Tony Robbins money, just not Bill Rancic money.  And don’t worry, no need to include the private jet!

Don’t be modest. I’ve seen the paparazzi following you at HR conferences.
