One of the things you notice via the talent profiles is that people that excel at something have the ultimate combination of the right inate characteristics (physical, intellectual, emotional), drive (willingness to exert tremendous effort to succeed), vision (they know what success is), and focus (the vision is everything). They have also had the benefit of the great coaching (the right person/people at the right stage of their development) and support (people, tools, environment). This is true in business as well. What are you doing to identify these in your candidates? Are you providing great coaching and support?

Great point Jason. Talent profiles are the hottest thing in the integrated talent management platform today as organizations realize they need this before they can really do anything tangible related to talent management.
What could NBC do to make this even more interactive? Make it wikipedia like?

Come one everyone it’s a bio, not a Talent Profile! It only becomes a Talent Profile when it begins to correlate directly to actionble events that are worthwhile for a business to do.
Also, this is my first post crosslinking to my new blog. Enjoy all, hope I can add something to the mix, or at least detract a little.

Yes it is a bio, but that’s the first step isn’t it? Don’t we have to crawl (okay painful swimming pun) before we walk? I think Jason points out an interesting parallel whereby talent management is in fact mirroring the sports metaphor. The baseball card is becoming ever more prevalent as a UI that people understand.
